Updating SureMDM Agent & Enterprise Agent

Prerequisite

Before you begin, you will need to verify 2 things: your device's hardware revision, and your devices Android version. See the article Checking Android version and hardware revision version and note your Android version and hardware revision.


Part 1: SureMDM agent

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the navigation bar. Tap the home button (the circular button) to get to the home screen.
  2. Tap the arrow shown in the image below to show the apps list.


  3. Select Chrome.


  4. Tap the search bar at the top, and go to apps.runzanational.com. From there, find 42Gears SureMDM and tap Download for Android.


  5. You may see a warning saying this type of file can harm your device. Ignore the warning; this message shows for any file of this type. Tap OK.

  6. Once the download completes, tap open.


  7. You should see an app that says "Do you want to install an update to this existing application?". If you do not see this, then you don't have SureMDM set up and you will need to contact IT to get this done so we can remotely assist you with the registers. If you do see the message, tap Install.


  8. Wait for the installation to complete, and tap Done. Then tap the home button again to exit.
  9. Return to the Register app if you are using a register, or the Kitchen app if you are using a kitchen display or drive thru display.

Part 2: Enterprise Agent

  1. Return to the download page at apps.runzanational.com as you did in steps 1-4 of part 1, but instead of looking for SureMDM, you need to find 42Gears Enterprise Agent
  2. Tap the button under 42Gears Enterprise Agent that corresponds to the hardware revision you noted in the prerequisites section.
  3. Repeat the same process as in steps 5-9 from part 1.
